4 No B.S. Tips for Harnessing Spiritual Strength
Here’s the deal….you CANNOT wait until shit hits the fan in your life to turn to your Spirituality to “save you”
You can’t wait until you’ve turned your brain inside out, THINKING yourself to death, exhausting all your “logical” options, before you raise the white flag and turn to Source as your “hail Mary” move (no pun intended)
Don’t fool yourself into thinking that you can book that yoga retreat, or the once-a-year sound bath ceremony, or shove a rose quartz up your hoo-hoo, click your heels three times, and chant a mantra, hoping that you followed all the instructions correctly, and get the answers you so desperately need!
This is NOT how Spirit operates, as you’ve probably noticed!
It’s NOT that these actions don’t have a time and place…except for maybe the crystal-up-the-hoo hoo part…… and it’s not that Source is judgmental and will withhold your needs because It’s miffed that you only show up when you need something.
Source ALWAYS provide..always, always, always.
Whether you need clarity about a relationship, your career, your purpose, or even where you should book your vacation, Source is ready and willing to provide spontaneous knowledge to lead you to the choice that’s in your best, highest interests, regardless of the issue at hand.
BUT….and this is extremely important, so pay attention….if you haven’t spent time BUILDING YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH SPIRIT, you will not have the capacity to RECEIVE what Source offers!!!
Everything you need to know, about what to do next, will be offered, every single time you ask, but it will arrive in forms that you need spiritually strong eyes and ears to perceive.
If you haven’t built those “spiritual muscles” up, through consistent effort and dedication, you’ll be incapable of accessing the guidance you need, NOT because your needs aren’t being served, but because you’re not prepared to BE served.
Remember that Source WANTS to serve your every need; Source LOVES you.
If you reflect, you’ll note that your Life has be served by Source consistently, in those moments that perhaps you wrote off as coincidence, or serendipity. Those were the moments when you had an intuitive “hit” and just KNEW something that defied reason. Or the times when the perfect person, thing or situation manifested in the 11th hour that you could have never seen coming, but that saved the day, likely even serving the situation better than you had hoped.
THIS WAS SOURCE showing up in Love for you.
It has ALWAYS been with you, but how freaking awesome would it be to be IN RELATIONSHIP with Source, to have Source on speed dial, and connect with It like you would your best friend, or a perfect loving parent?
Real Spirituality is PRECISELY this: a working, down-to-earth partnership with Source that doesn’t require anything from you but your commitment, intention and time….sort a like every other relationship in your Life!
But unlike your other relationships, your relationship with Source gives you immediate access to inner peace, personal power and spontaneous downloads of wisdom that will carry you through ANY challenge, big or small.
What would it feel like to have that spontaneous KNOWING on the daily?
What would it feel like to trust your instincts without ever second guessing?
How great would it feel to drop the pressure of having to figure it all out, and get it all "right" on your own?
And how would it feel to have your average grocery shopping, drive the kids to soccer, make the bed everyday Life feel just a little bit magical….adventurous even….with a sense that a Power greater than you is arranging people, places and things for the fulfillment of your highest good, your needs, and your dreams…and all you have to do to enjoy this on the daily is show up on the daily?
It would be fucking incredible, obviously!
So now for the 64 million dollar question……
HOW do you show up to be in ACTIVE RELATIONSHIP with Source?
Here’s where to start:
- Whatever your preferred spiritual practice is….prayer, meditation, mirror affirmations, yoga, reading tea leaves, dancing naked under the moon with that rose quartz up your hoo-hoo…whatever it is, do it EVERY day. DEDICATE TIME to it every day, with the same sense of “well, duh” resolve that you bring to showering or brushing your teeth.
- Show up for your practice with just 2 things: gratitude and presumption. Offer up gratitude for everything that’s GOOD in your Life right now, exactly as it is. And then offer thanks for the GOOD that you desire. Presume, in advance, that your need has been met, without demanding to have the need be delivered in the way you THINK it must be. Remember that YOUR ideas of what’s possible are ridiculously limited by your mental structures and biases….we’re asking SOURCE to deliver from its decidedly larger storehouse of perspective and power.
- Accept that we exist in a Universe that operates from a Law: whatever you focus your attention on expands. The Law is neutral, and makes no distinction of “good” and “bad”; it’s vital that you accept this Law with the same “well, duh” as you do the Law of gravity, and then train your mind to focus only on those things which you would wish to see MORE of in your Life. For example, the more you give your attention to your relationship with Source, the more Source will be visible in your Life.
- And finally, don’t get neurotic about your preferred spiritual practice….it’s NOT about the practice, but about the energy you bring to it. Spiritual practices are merely forms; they’re containers that help you drop away from the egoic, repetitive thinking mind, so you can drop into the timeless, present, experiential BEINGness of Source. Don't cling to it or worry about "doing it right". Source could give a shit about which form you use; It could give a fuck about how many minutes you meditate, if you went to church on Sunday, whether you pray standing or kneeling, or if you acted like an asshole at school drop-off; It just cares that you show up to connect with It. As your Spirituality strengthens, you’ll discover that the form or practice that used to resonate with you no longer does. You’ll be led to new teachers, with new messages for you, that you wouldn’t have been ready for at any earlier time. Trust that when a form no longer seems to “work” for you, that that may be a message to let go and be open to receiving the next form that's a better fit for your current level of Spiritual development. It’s all a process of BECOMING, after all.
Your relationship with Source, via your Spirituality, is THE MOST important relationship in your Life; it's WORTH daily deposits of your time and energy because It's your greatest benefactor.
When THIS relationship is strong, every other relationship falls into its RIGHT place.
When THIS relationship is strong, you have the intelligence of the Universe on speed dial.
